ItoWorld produced an impressing Video on OpenStreetMap mapping. Its absolutely impressing how fast a community can develop something like OpenStreetMap. Crowdsourcing is not only about shifting the work towards a community. Its more about how a community can change the world. Meanwhile countries like USA or the Netherlands are disclosing their maps for OpenStreetMap. Take a look at the video and you will understand why OSM will change the world.

Sipgate has a very nice API to access the phonebook or write click2call applications. You can also check your voicemail (or as it is called in the API Unified Message). Unfortunately you can only get information on the amount of messages and if they are read or not. With a small wget script you can also download the WAV files and send them for example to your Nabaztag. Its cool to come home and your Nabaztag tells you about absent calls end presents you the message without picking up the phone or starting the laptop.

You need one wget call to get your PHPsession key:

Important to set your Username and Passwd in the script. Wget will then store your PHPsession key to your .cookies folder.

With

       --no-check-certificate
       -O 1.wav

you can download your voice messages as wav files. Then a little “lame” and an Nabaztag API call and your Voicemail will be presented to you as soon as you come home. Have fun.

Just found the violet web page with cool devices. One is a RFID Scanner and small little RFID tags called Mir:ror. You can easily program actions depending on the tag. As tags you can use Ztamp:s or small little Nabaztags. Have a look at the video:

One other nice thing is an internet controlled lamp called Dal:dal. Strongly reminds me to the EOLUS lamp.

As in good old times when its raining outside, it Sunday and you definitely don’t want to clean apartment (ok at this time it was my room at parents place). There is a nice web2.0 side for making MixedTapes.

Last weekend on the Barcamp in Stuttgart (#bc0711) I learned more about OpenStreetMap. Extreme impressing! What I really liked was the tremendous power of communities. Peter gave a very good presentation on Openstreetmap.

Starting today with the “Otherinbox“. Nice combination of instant email service and web emailer. If you subscribe to the service you get a domain like ansi.otherinbox.com where you can use several email addresses like facebook@ansi.otherinbox.com or intershop@ansi.otherinbox.com. The service accepts all emails for this domain and shows them in a web based mailer in seperate folders. Nice and usefull. At the moment they are in closed beta but you can follow them on twitter at @otherinbox.
